I wish to start this article to congratulate those of you who had been keeping up with my articles whether it in my website or LinkedIn. Thank you for reading and it's always my pleasure to share as much as I can to you all.
Thank you to all those who had been keeping up with their health and fitness too. It is inevitable that gyms are still closed at the present moment and all you can do is to join the online classes which I am sure are as good as the ones you receive in the gyms. For those who are just starting, congratulations and well let me get you up-to-date on the deal of Strength and Conditioning.
What is strength and conditioning?
Strength and conditioning at its simplest form is the practical application of sports science to enhance movement quality. Let me simplify it more. It combines all movements focusing on speed, power, and strength and gives you the total body workout experience which ultimately helps you in real-life settings such as standing with ease for the elderly. Yes, I mean it when I said it for the elderly. I would like to mention that strength and conditioning does not cater only for athletes but it is for the general public regardless of your age. (Babies not included, of course!!) Methods include plyometrics, speed and agility, mobility, core stability, endurance and weight training and so much more depending on the individual or teams needs!
Here are some benefits of strength and conditioning for young and old. Do drop me a PM for more of our strength and conditioning classes (oops..sorry private advertising!!)

Benefit #1 - Prevents injury
One key essential of strength and conditioning is that each movement is analysed so that correct technique is executed and therefore reduce the possibility of injury. Injury prevention is awesome for those beginning to exercise and those who are already exercising strength an conditioning.
Benefit #2 - Better gains in performance
Depending on your goals, strength and conditioning will definitely help you gain better performance. Performance entails technical, physical, tactical or mental factors depending on the participants. I would like to cite an example in one of client. She had some challenges in improving her pace for a 5KM run. Upon completing her first month, she was able to increase her pace to the pace that she sets out to reach.
Benefit #3 - Enhances general health
Why do you exercise? If you experience a better physical sensation, thoughts, and body transformation, then you had attained benefit # 3. The movements in the strength and conditioning classes helped to a large extent to improve cardiovascular health, muscular, skeletal and mental health.

Benefit #4 - Bone density improve
Strength and conditioning not only improves your muscle but it also assists in the bone density. Harvard Medical School reported that strength and conditioning sessions helps to slow down bone loss and helps to gain denser bone.
Benefit #5 - Improved posture
The effects of sedentary lifestyle has definite consequences to the body shape and ultimately the posture. Through the correct techniques of strength and conditioning, posture analysis is often conducted as part of an initial assessment so movement patterns can be developed based on improving functionality for the individuals’ needs. Improved posture can lead to better overall bodily functions including your respiratory system and circulation.
Benefit #6 - Mood disorder? Do strength and conditioning
All forms of strength and conditioning exercises (including sex) helps to boost endorphin inside the body. Endorphin is the body's natural hormone to help reduce pain and stress. In addition, serotonin is also released in the body upon executing the varied forms of strength and conditioning exercises. Another client of mine improved his heart rate and cadence stable in the training zone during his cycling training session. This made him passionate about his strength and conditioning workout.
Benefit #7 - Metabolism and muscle
Strength and conditioning training helps to build muscle, which in turn gives your metabolism a boost as muscle burns more calories at rest. An increase in lean muscle mass reduces the risk of insulin resistance, a group of risk factors for cardiovascular disease and other factors which can lead to ill health such as elevated fasting glucose and triglyceride levels, hypertension, obesity and reduced HDL cholesterol.

Benefit #8 - Making the exercises enjoyable
With the varied forms of strength and conditioning exercises, you can be assured that you are not confined to only one type of exercise. Therefore, you will not get bored easily with all the jumping, pulling, pushing, squatting as in the strength and conditioning.exercises.
As you can see, strength and conditioning benefits so many areas of not just sport, but everyday life. Incorporating some of the principles into your own life and those surrounding you. It will o make a difference to how you perform, move and live.
If you would like to know more about the principles of strength and conditioning or join my session (first trial is FREE!!), please drop me a PM. It is all ONLINE and you can do it at the comfort of your home.
